Closing seminar of the South expert plants sustainable development programme

The SEP2D programme is reaching completion, and there will be a closing seminar 7-8 April. This is the time to assess the programme’s activity and outline the prospects for the conservation and enhancement of tropical plant biodiversity. Stéphanie Bouziges-Eschmann, the FFEM’s Secretary-General, will be on the panel “What are the financing strategies for biodiversity conservation?“ which is taking place on 8 April between 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm
Cloture SEP2D
The SEP2D programme contributes to research action through the strengthening of public-private partnerships encouraging the conservation of plant biodiversity. Since its creation in 2012 it has supported the dynamic initiated by the 10th Conference on the Convention on Biological Diversity held in Nagoya in 2010. The SEP2D supports the scientific community in Southern countries through South- South and South-North networking, in partnership with the international actors.
The SEP2D programme is also characterised by multilateral and thematic governance shared between the partners and the financers, the French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM), the Agence française de développement (AFD) and the Institut de recherche pour le développement (IRD).
This closing seminar will provide an opportunity for the various programme partners to report back, produce an assessment, and outline the preliminary prospects.
