Evaluation overview of the project "La Montañona"

La Montañona, located in Chalatenango, El Salvador, is a key forest massif that plays a vital role in securing water supply for the sub-region. Managed by the Mancomunidad, a consortium of seven municipalities at the time, the area is the focus of a project aimed at shifting agricultural and livestock production practices among a group of lead producers and communities toward sustainable agroforestry and silvopastoral systems. The objective is to safeguard productive capacities and livelihoods, preserve local water sources, and contribute to the restoration of biodiversity across the La Montañona territory.
