Nouveau guide sur les mangroves
FFEM - Océanopolis

The current ecological crisis marked by a significant degradation of ecosystems in a context of global change requires stronger and more sustainable protection of coral reefs and mangroves, which are key sites for global biodiversity. In order to meet these challenges, it is no longer possible for public policies alone to implement these activities. Global engagement, including citizens in their daily practices, will make a difference. It is now essential that young people mobilize and acquire the skills necessary to implement actions for the survival of these essential ecosystems.

This new book, “Mangroves, Coastal Anchorages,” provides an update on current knowledge of the ecosystem and discusses threats and pressures. The last part highlights the diversity of occupations and skills necessary for their survival and safeguarding. Far from being exhaustive, it can be a source of inspiration for students and young professionals. Faced with the challenges to be met, new jobs will emerge from existing skills and expertise; future generations will have to demonstrate agility to accompany these developments.
This book was produced by the French Fund for the Global Environment (FFEM) and Océanopolis with support from the Ministry of Ecological Transition, within the framework of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
