Small Initiatives for a Full-Scale Program
Published on

The SSIP focuses on Sub-Saharian African countries, included Madagascar, because of their extraordinary but threatned biodiversity, mainly due to extreme poverty.
In these countries, livelihoods rely on ecosystem-based services, whereas today 60% of them are degrated. In those régions, natural resources can then be considered a sort on "life insurance" for communities and must be protected: that is why the SSIP supports initiatives reconciling development and conservation to build new models of sustainable development.
